Der Autor Martin Mahle wurde auf der Insel Lindau im Bodensee geboren, absolvierte eine Ausbildung zum Bankkaufmann und danach ein berufsbegleitendes Studium zum Bankfachwirt. Ab 1985 battle er in Lindau, Regensburg, Günzburg und München für einen renommierten europäischen Bankkonzern tätig. Derzeit arbeitet er für diese financial institution als Firmenkundenbetreuer in Augsburg. Er lebt mit seiner Familie in Neusäß.
Während seiner Grundwehrdienstzeit 1987/88 wurde ihm die Ehrenmedaille der Bundeswehr verliehen.
Soweit bekannt, hat er nie für den Bundesnachrichtendienst gearbeitet.
